The Anima Mundi festival

The Anima Mundi festival

I'm sorry that it's been silent here for a while. We've passed a difficult time at the end of 2019. We all caught a bad flu one after another and at the same time, my companions’ father got hospitalized after 8 months of fighting cancer. The last day of the year he passed away….

Now it's a new year and we're looking forward to filling it with new experiences and joy. Although it will take a long while to fill the emptiness of our loved Antonico.

During Christmas, our village Culieri was celebrating "Anima Mundi", a festival for culture, art, food, and music. I too participated with some of my photos. As you surely understand I couldn't enjoy the festival much, but some pictures I managed to shoot. Above all an authentic house that was furnished the traditional way, showing how to make bread in an old oven, wash your clothes with homemade soap and bleach, and old textiles. all very beautiful and interesting!
In the old stable Where I showed my photos, Filippo Casule was exhibiting faces sculptured in stone, beautiful and suggestive!
And then you found traditional food all over the village in peoples’ homes and cellars, yumm!

I which you all a splendid 2020!

Traditional oven for bread baking, tools and a natural brush for cleaning the bottom of the oven.

A basin for live coal to warm up cold feet, and natural bleaching herbs.

I fell in love with these small statuettes that Itamira, a Brazialian woman that lives here, makes!
